February exhibition - NZ

Birds - Eliza Xu

The first exhibition for 2025 is a showcase of Wellington artist Eliza Xu's watercolour art of New Zealand birds.

Eliza paints delicate and detailed watercolours of NZ flora and fauna. She has used  her paintings to make tea towels and  bags that are retailed throughout NZ.

The opening is 6pm Wednesday 19 February, so please join us to meet Eliza and see her stunningly beautiful watercolours.

March exhibition - Heimler and Proc 'Tamara de Lampicka'

Gabriel Heimler and Anna Proc's 2025 exhibition is a tribute to Polish artist Temara de Lampicka.
And on display for the next two weeks in the gallery is their new signature work 'Aoraki Rhapsody' plus the only remaining unsold paintings from their 2023 series Chrysalis, 'Fruit in Your Hand' and the 2024 series Fabulous Dinners, 'Alice in New Wonderland' plus two from the 2021 series Free as a Bird. 'Nesting' and 'Paradisiac'

Spotlight on our Artists

Graham Young - I was very happy to host Waihi Beach based artist Graham Young's first exhibition with the galley last October. There are some exhibition paintings still available, including the three below, 'Bringing in the Boat' 'The Old Jag' and 'Kinloch'  Graham's prints and 2025 calendars are  for sale in the gallery.

Spotlight on our Artists 2

Miranda Woollett  - Upper Hutt artist Miranda Woollett  creates thoughtful narrative artworks that are often visually intense while also complex and intricate. She has painted for many years and as a well respected Wellington artist I was very pleased to have the opportunity of showcasing Miranda  with an exhibition in 2023.

Spotlight on our Artists 3

Ronda Thompson - From her seaside home in Pukerua Bay Ronda paints in oil using a combination of brush and palette knife. Combined with her love of detail and often using the early morning or evening light she gives her cityscapes  a unique mix of texture, warm dramatic light and complex scenery. From left to right Calm Morning at Chaffers Marina' 'Titahi Bay Boatsheds' and 'Lampstands'
